Hops and harvest at Scotney Castle
Sunday 08 September 2019
Location: Scotney Castle Visitor Reception, Lamberhurst, Tunbridge Wells, TN3 8JN.
Celebrate the harvest and tour one of the last working hop farms in Kent. See the harvest coming in at Little Scotney Farm in the traditional way and learn about Kent's hop picking heritage. With produce on display, items available to take home for a small donation and the garden team on hand to answer any questions you may have. Browse local traders' stalls and pick up some local treats to take home: locally made jams, fruit juices, craft items, jewellery, illustrations and ceramics, with a hog roast washed down with a pint of ale.
Guided hop tours at 11.00am and 2.00pm: Walk among the growing hops, see inside the oast, stripping shed and hop huts, taste the ale brewed on the farm.
Tours are £3 per person. Limited places, first come first served on the day.
NB. Non-members admission charge and £3 parking applies.
