The path continues through woodland until it reaches Hook Lane where for a short while the path carries on along the lane. When the lane bears round to the right, follow the HWLT straight on down a farm track. A short distance later, another footpath goes left and here you leave the HWLT and take the left hand footpath.
The path continues to a small hamlet, Highbrook, when you reach the road turn left. Past the houses on the right hand side there is a footpath, follow this to eventually reach the Bluebell Railway. Turn right and follow the path close to the line. It passes Horsted Keynes Station. Take the right hand lane away from the station for a short distance before reaching a foopath bearing left.
This footpath will take you past Great Oddynes, and straight on to Little Oddynes Farm. It eventually reaches a lane, cross over the lane, turn right and just to the left there is a footpath along the edge of the woodland. At a junction of footpaths turn right and follow a footpath heading towards Horsted Keynes village.
When you reach the road turn left and follow the Sussex Border path along the road for a short distance. Continue on the Sussex Border Path to Broadhurst Manor. It then takes you along the lanes for a short distance. Continue on the Sussex Border Path back to Sharpthorne. When you reach the village turn left and head back to West Hoathly.
