A unique company is bringing fresh home made pizzas to Sussex, cooked in a log burning stove in the back of a van and delivering to villages and at events.· The vehicle, a Renault Master, has had a 3/4 ton log burning oven fitted by "Four Grande Mere" in France.
The vehicle is built to very high specifications to produce the very best thin crust, freshly prepared and baked Pizzas in a safe and hygienic environment. The wood for the oven is sourced through a well know Sussex Company who deal in large oak, ie. beams etc and slab oak which is believed to be off-cuts of the beams, having been well dried and provides high calorific heat value.
Ron who owns the company worked at the Westminster Hotel School, Savoy, Claridges, before having his own Restaurant and then lecturing to Professional Chefs for many years. Since Pizza Verde started last year they have catered for events such as music festivals, weddings, after the formal event, rugby clubs and gymkhanas. The "Hatch Facility" in the van allows direct access to a marquee for Wedding or other events.
