Largest charcoal burn for 15 years
A traditional charcoal burn was the focus of Coppice Week - a five-day event on Ashdown Forest which brought professional and amateur woodland workers together to share coppice craft skills, many of which are gradually being lost.

Energy Day for schools 'powerful learning'
Constructing windmills, generating electricity through pedal power and learning about the journey of a wood chip were just some of the activities undertaken by almost 100 children from four High Weald primary schools as part of exploring local sustainable energy sources.
