Have you ever thought about where your christmas tree was grown?
Many farmshops in Kent, Sussex and Surrey source British grown Christmas trees. Wilderness Wood are growing their own and selling them throughout December as part of their Christmas Festival. Profits from their sales help with the management of their woodlands for recreation and conservation.

What to do with your old Christmas tree?
If it has roots keep it in a pot outside or plant it in the garden (and reuse it next year) or why not give to the rangers at Camber Sands. They operate a Christmas tree recycling scheme every January to collect old trees from the local community. The trees are ‘planted’ on their sides in shallow trenches where gaps (caused by trampling from visitors) have been created in the dunes. The trees help trap wind-blown sand, allowing vegetation to grow and stabilise the sand.
