Like many council plans and policies, AONB management plans need to be reviewed and updated regularly. The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, requires that AONB plans are reviewed every 5 years.
Our plan was originally approved in 2004, and during 2008/09 this plan was reviewed and updated. This review was kept minimal as the plan, a 20 year strategy, was still very new and only required minor amendment this time.
We are continually monitoring the plans actions and use, and the AONB 'condition' as part of the work to update the plan again. A new version is due in 2014 and work will soon start on preparing to update and amend the plan in time for the 2014 deadline.
