Visit somewhere new... A significant element of the Scheme's work has supported access enhancements on sites across the area - places we know you'd love to visit!
- Broadwater Warren; new bridges and boardwalks allow you to journey through the beautiful wet mire on this RSPB reserve, with its rust red iron-stained water. An easy access trail leads from the car park, and a self-guided Historical Trail explores the site's fascinating history and heritage. Pick up a Trail leaflet at the site or download here.
- Birchden Wood: A 1.5km all ability trail provides hardsurfaced access for buggies, wheelchairs and everyone looking to avoid muddy feet! Along the trail are tactile wooden sculptures that help interpret the diverse heritage of the site. Explore slightly further on foot and stand beneath the stunning sandstone outcrops of Harrison's Rocks: a spectacular feature in the landscape.
- The Forestry Commission's Sheffield Forest, St Leonard's Forest and Tilgate Forest have all had path improvements to help you explore these mixed sites of woodland and heath.
- Leechpool and Owlbeech Woods: boardwalks, bridges, steps and all-weather surfacing have all enhanced accessibility to this attractive woodland and heathland site on the edge of Horsham. And don't forget to explore the willow and sandstone sculpture trail whilst you are there!
- Weir Wood LNR; The public footpath on the north side of this reservoir has been transformed from a muddy morasse to a hard-surfaced path meandering through woodland and copses, giving access to a picnic area and reservoir viewpoint.
