General information: St Michael's school were one of the 4 schools to take part in the High Weald Sustainable Energy Project at Ashdown Forest in October 2010. This interactive and informative event, organised by the High Weald AONB Unit, allowed Key Stage 2 children to learn about historical energy sources in the local area and current sustainable energy alternatives. Ancient fire making techniques, pedal power generators, windmill making and recycling themed quizzes were just some of the activities that the children took part in. Pre visit activities and classroom based resources were also supplied to the schools that took part.
