General Information:
Staplecross are a very active High Weald Hero school, using the local landscape - and the 5 High Weald Hero
actions - in many aspects of their wider curriculum work.
The latest endeavour was to become musical High Weald Heroes. Children enthusiastically participated in 'Songs and Sounds of the High Weald' workshops and used listening, singing, composing and percussion skills to learn more about the landscape and its history. Activities included learning, and adapting, traditional folk songs as well as arranging instruments to compose a 'soundscape' of the forges, hammers and rushing water of former High Weald iron workings.
