General Information: Benenden school have used their school welly walk to invite parents and governors along on a whole school outing. With staggered starts to avoid congestion at stiles (!) the whole school have ventured out into the local High Weald landscape. Children were experts at spotting butterflies and identifying some wildflower grassland plants. Benenden's welly walk also goes through the fascinating and, recently restored, Strawberry Wood Culvert - a stone structure bridging a gill stream believed to have been used to transport heavy goods in the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries, supporting the iron and cloth industries.
