Linda owns the Ashdown Forest Llama Park and incorporates many green principles in running her business, which has earned a green tourism gold award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
Her environmental policy covers all aspects of the business, including visitor management and animal care. The 32 acre site is managed on a low input basis and manure from the animals is put back onto the land.
Local products are promoted at the visitor coffee shop, which is heated by a burner from wood produced from the farm. The buildings are well insulated and low energy light bulbs are a feature throughout.
There is an emphasis on using recycled products such as office paper and serviettes and as much is recycled as possible: even stale cakes and bread are fed to the goats!
