Children from every corner of the High Weald have been learning about their local area as schools continue to join the High Weald Hero education scheme. From West Green in Crawley, to Hollington in Hastings, primary school pupils have begun to carry out the five High Weald Hero actions to Find Out About, Explore, Take Care Of, Be Proud Of and Enjoy their unique local landscape.
Schools that have recently joined the partnership are: Mountfield and Whatlington; Icklesham; West Green; Stonegate; Hollington and Sir Henry Fermor CEP School in Crowborough. The total number of schools involved in the scheme is now 67. Children from High Weald Hero schools benefit from landscape assemblies, themed workshops, bespoke education resources and outdoor learning activities.
