Ashdown Forest, an expansive area of internationally rare heathland with an open, 'wilderness' feel.
FAMOUS ASSOCIATIONS:
The Forest provided the setting for the Winnie the Pooh stories of A A Milne.
HIGH WEALD AONB UNIT'S FAVOURITE PARTS:
Views from Ashdown Forest towards the Sussex Downs.
ACCESS:
In the High Weald AONB the Trail passes close to Ashurst, Buxted and Uckfield train stations all of which are accessible by train from London within 60 minutes.
