High Weald

ourland_logoOur Land is an innovative, collaborative project that is developing and promoting sustainable rural tourism in the National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (the Protected Landscapes) of the South East. The project is co-ordinated by the South East Protected Landscapes (SEPL) Forum in partnership with responsibletravel.com, a Brighton based online travel agency with 10 years experience.

The overall aim of the project is to help tourism businesses offer activities and accommodation which not only celebrate the iconic landscapes in which they are based but also benefit the environment, culture and heritage of the area. The project believes this offer will: increase visitors' enjoyment and understanding of the landscape's special character, quality and biodiversity; benefit the local rural economy; and contribute to the growth in sustainable tourism by developing and promoting more sustainable tourism opportunities.

One of the outputs of the project was a toolkit to help tourism businesses create a short promotional video, using the landscape of the High Weald as a backdrop.

The toolkit included several ‘how to’ guides and videos including:

  • How to use a Flipshare camera
  • Scriptwriting
  • Filming tips
  • Editing and uploading the final video to YouTube

This video was filmed and edited entirely by Jane from Coopers Farm using a Flip Video Camera.
