olivecrescentmothEridge Rocks, best known for its sandstone outcrops, is also an excellent habitat for moths, light trapping by Sussex Wildlife Trust staff during 2010 has revealed. Nearly 100 species new to the reserve were recorded and some of the rarer woodland moth species were discovered including: olive crescent, waved carpet, festoon and rosy marbled.
