Introduction: A mostly coniferous plantation, owned and managed by the Forestry Commission. By crossing Bixley Lane, it is possible to connect to the neighbouring Flatropers Wood.
Location: Adjacent to Beckley village and 1.3 mile west of Peasmarsh, East Sussex. The Wood can be accessed from Bixley Lane, a minor road off the A268.
What can I do? Explore the Wood on the forest tracks and public footpath that run north-south through the site.
What can I see? Spot the broadleaved trees amongst the conifers - mostly birch, beech and sweet chestnut.
What can I hear? Listen out for typical woodland birds, such as green and great spotted woodpeckers.
