Walkers, cyclists and dogs are welcome at Moss Cottage, and there are stables available for those who wish to hack round the High Weald countryside. The Hatch Inn, a lovely country pub serving great food, is just a short walk away. Local attractions include the Bluebell Railway and several National Trust properties.

Moss Cottage offers guests a double room with private bathroom. A stream runs behind the house and the garden is often filled with all kinds of beautiful wildlife, including kingfishers and butterflies. There are many pretty picnic spots amongst the heather-lined heathland and streams of the Ashdown Forest, many stained red from the presence of iron that was extracted in Roman and Tudor times. Aside from the beautiful views and Winnie the Pooh locations, the forest has a rich archaeological history dating back to the Bronze Age.
