High Weald

Brakes Coppice ParkBrakes Coppice Park is a campsite tucked into a valley near Battle in East Sussex, in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It provides a perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature and the outdoors under the stars, in a landscape inhabited by wildlife ranging from rabbits, foxes and deer to lizards, owls and bats. The coppiced woodland nearby is carpeted with beautiful bluebells during the spring and summer months, as well as wood anemone and ferns alongside the stream. Brakes Coppice is also on the doorstep of 1066 countryside, perfect for day trips to different parts of the AONB to discover historic ruins and beautiful moated castles that have been a part of the landscape for centuries.

The campsite accommodates tents, caravans and campervans – with a toilet block (including separate disabled facilities), modern showers and free hot water all day and night. There is a small coarse fishing lake for the exclusive use of campers, laundry, a children’s adventure play trail, dog walks and a small shop for basic essentials. The Plough in Crowhurst is recommended. Hastings and Battle are close by and a spectacular RSPB nature reserve is just ten minutes walk from the campsite.
