All of its four rooms overlook mature gardens filled with trees, flowers and many species of wildlife. Birdbaths attract different varieties of birdlife and the pond is great for watching fish, newts, snails and other creatures. The growing area for fruit and vegetables provides delicious tomatoes and homemade jams for breakfast served in the garden room. Eggs come from the owner’s free range chickens.

Guests can stroll into the village of Hawkhurst for long lunches in the 16th century Great House pub, spend the afternoons taking in the countryside sights and visiting the local shops, cafes, restaurants. Bewl Water, a beautiful reservoir area with a circular cycling route is just eight miles away. Bodiam Castle and Sissinghurst Castle Gardens are even closer. The area is perfect for walking and cycling, particularly at Bedgebury Pinetum - a beautiful place to visit all year round. Bodiam Castle is famous for its 1066 history and the Kent and Sussex Steam Railway also makes a great family day out in the High Weald countryside.
