The current High Weald AONB Management Plan was launched in April 2009 and remains valid until 31 March 2014.
The current Plan is divided into sections:
- an introduction to AONB legislation and principles of the Plan;
- a vision for the area;
- a description of the key components that form the area's natural beauty;
- facts, figures and maps;
- Objectives, indicators of success and five-year targets for the area's key components of natural beauty (these are effectively the Plan's policies);
- and a section on implementation and monitoring.

In accordance with European regulations (2001/42EC) an environmental report has also been produced which identifies the likely impacts that may arise from the implementation of the Plan.
