Monitoring the condition of the AONB is a vital exercise. It provides a yardstick against which to judge the impact of the many efforts to conserve and enhance the area and may also provide an early warning that things are going wrong. The High Weald Joint Advisory Committee has established a methodology for monitoring change in the condition of the key components of the area’s natural beauty.
The High Weald JAC also monitors its own performance and the contribution of its partners to delivering the AONB Management Plan objectives.
Performance and condition monitoring are undertaken every 5 years to inform the AONB Management Plan Review process.
