Description: The village of Rolvenden dates from at least Saxon times. The Parish of Rolvenden comprises the ward of Rolvenden (known locally as "The Streyte"), and its smaller, younger sibling Rolvenden Layne. It is about ten square miles in area, given largely to farming and related rural activities, with a growing number of professional, craft, trade and tourist services. There is a thriving Farmers Market in the village each Thursday morning.
