High Weald
scotney_castle_rhododendronNow is the time of year when gardens in the High Weald are hitting their summer peak and there is the opportunity to enjoy the splendours and sights of some truly fabulous gardens (and the historic houses that many of them surround).

Over 75 gardens are open across the High Weald and in villages many choose to open on the same day providing a fantastic opportunity to admire the High Weald's building heritage whilst walking from garden to garden.

The increased amount of daylight hours also means that many gardens will welcome visitors during the evening.

Visits to some gardens are not restricted to set opening times, many gardens open by appointment.

Visit the National Garden Scheme website for details of openings.

There is a charge for visiting the gardens which raises much needed funds for the charities that the NGS supports.
