Congratulations to Diana Grissell of Brightling Park Estate, the trainer of Rear Gunner, who won the three mile Novices' Steeplechase at Kempton Park on the 15th January.
Although almost all of the 15,000 race-goers at Kempton had braved the cold in the almost certain expectation of witnessing racing history as the great Kauto Star attempted an unprecedented fifth consecutive win in the King George VI Steeplechase, those who stayed until the end of the day were treated to a splendid display of thoughtful and determined racing by Rear Gunner and his talented jockey Andrew Thornton.
Mrs Grissell trains horses for racing, hunter 'chases and point-to-point at her stables based in the heart of the High Weald.
