Through the activities of the Weald Meadows Officer and High Weald Landscape Trust, financial support for an extension of the project for a further 2 years has been secured from local sources; the Nineveh Charitable Trust and private donators. After 12 years of sourcing funds for and managing the project, the High Weald AONB Unit will be handing over the reins to the High Weald Landscape Trust who will contract the existing meadows officer, Dawn Brickwood.

Wildflower grassland conservation is a high priority for the Unit and other key partners (Agrifactors, Natural England, High Weald Landscape Trust and Kew at Wakehurst Place) who have helped develop and support the project over the last 12 years and will continue to ensure a proactive project in the long term.

From mid-November Dawn will be based in a new office in Battle and will continue to provide site- specific advice and practical support to grassland landowners.
